Just as with the other Schöler machines, numerous innovations have been introduced for the fin press in recent years. The focus has been on perfect tuning for flexible production of low to medium batch sizes for a widerange of products or even just prototypes. The tool costs can be kept in the lower range.

The quick-change system enables a smooth tool change in less than 30 minutes. Time-consuming adjustment work is a thing of the past thanks to the cassette design for the tools. In addition to the stable design and fine tuning of the components, this contributes significantly to a consistently high fin quality.

With a maximum strip width of 300 mm and a press speed of 120 strokes per minute, the machine can be used in single or double track to increase output for narrow fins. The compact design includes a motorized decoiler with speed control, as well as integrated strip oiling and a pneumatic cut-to-length unit.

The SL fin press is generally equipped with a Siemens PLC and a touch screen panel for easy operation. In addition to the option of double track operation, other additional components such as edge hemming, automatic central lubrication, oil mist filter system or a noise protection enclosure can be selected from the extensive options.

Fin products in plain, offset or herringbone design can be produced with a tolerance of +/- 0.03 to 0.05 mm in aluminum, steel or copper. Strip thicknesses between 0.05 and 0.4 mm can be used safely depending on material type. Here, the fast and safe tool change helps to be able to guarantee the consistently high product quality.
